Amazing how plans change so quickly! As we’d some spare time after the Baltics cruise, which doesn’t go to Norway this time, Paula found that the Crown Princess gets back to Southampton, then heads to Norway. So, we are now booked on that too…
As at the time of writing this, both the Cruise Critic Roll Calls are in full swing, but no familiar faces, which is a shame, as it is always so much more enjoyable when we have met other passengers before embarkation. Next year’s cruise is a classic example, as we already know about 40 people including our preferred table mates.
Sailing, or cruising, out of Southampton, even though there are several Australians on board, we won’t get the opportunity to catch up early, as we’ll be spending the night before in Bournemouth. One of the fun traditions of cruising is that whenever possible, there is a pre-cruise get together the night before. All our cruises out of Sydney have been enhanced this way.
We even manage pre cruise get togethers in NZ whenever possible, and have had up to 20 attend. So this time, it looks as though we’ll have to rely on the on board ‘Meet & Greet’ to put some faces to names and hope that we get good table companions for our late sitting dining.
I did put in the previous post that I was hoping to go to Goodwood, but we have canned that, but hopefully, Paula will be dancing in Hawaii in October, but we won’t cruise again after all.
