Day 18 - Just a family day and farewell

A good night’s sleep again - almost too good, so we arranged to meet Stewart and Noah after Noah’s swimming lesson, about 10:30 at Morrison’s supermarket.  We got there a few minutes early and whizzed around for a few supplies – which just happened to include 3 cans and 3 bottles of cider…
However, we opted to eat at Brookfields, where Noah could play in the kids area, but when we arrived and checked his height, he was just over!  He must be growing, but they let him in anyway, but this might be the last time.
We then headed for Nottingham City, as we hadn’t really been in any further than the Vic Centre.  Another fine day and in the Market Square, there was a massive queue.  Free Pizza to celebrate the 1st birthday of the establishment.  Noah soon stripped off his shoes and socks and joined the other 300 kids, splashing about in the shallows.
We then headed back to the Park Inn for a break, then joined Stewart, Manu and Noah for a farewell meal at the Italian restaurant in Mapperley, ‘Pacino’s’.  Very nice too.  A really tasty fettuccine for me and Paula’s chicken dish was exceptionally well presented.  The Tiramisu was very light so a good meal to round off the Nottingham sector, but no Dave and Sue this time, as they had gone for a couple of days to Ironbridge, so we’d already said our farewells to them.  A farewell to Stewart and Manu, but Noah had his arms around Paula’s neck whilst standing on a wall, but when she reached over to put him down, he hung on without putting his feet on the floor, so they both fell in a heap! Paula grazed her knee, but I am convinced it will not stop her dancing lesson with Simon.  In fact, nothing short of a broken leg is going to stop her.
Back to the Park Inn for us, to pack for our journey south tomorrow.  We have no idea when either of us will be back in Nottingham, as next year, we are cruising Auckland to Auckland, with no specific plans to visit the UK other than the one day.   Pity, as I have just moved up to Gold on my Air NZ status, from Silver, but to maintain that, I have to keep travelling.
Maybe tomorrow night we’ll be sleeping under Bournemouth pier, as Agoda are still messing me about and still haven’t confirmed we actually have a room.
