One of those days that cannot possibly be informative or even entertaining for blog followers – but an easy catch up for me.
Another set of lukewarm breakfast items which is a bit disappointing. Even the hot water for coffee/tea doesn’t seem very hot and all the tea drinkers are moaning – rightly so. Tea has to be made with boiling water. Maybe some dumb passenger tipped the hot drink over themselves and sued Princess. (It happened at a US McDonalds.)
For Paul’s trivia, we adopted Dave from Hull into our team, but either he didn’t bring any real talent or Paul’s questions were a bit tough. Whatever the reason, we scored a miserable 7/20. As Dave won’t be reading this anyway, we’ll blame him.
We managed to sit out on our balcony enjoying the pleasant sun for part of the afternoon. We didn’t win the afternoon trivia either, even though Alan and Sheila who were in the morning’s winning team joined us.
Paula had decided that she (we?) needed the exercise offered by an opportunity to dance at 7pm, whilst the orchestra played in the centre of the 3 main venues, the dark Explorer’s lounge. The dance floor is not even as big as on the Sun class ships, but at least I managed to tire her out with the cha-cha.
Dinner was once again just the four of us, so I think we can safely say we won’t be seeing the other couple again.
An excellent meal but the temptation of a chocolate mousse dessert on a caramel then almond base, proved irresistible - for me anyway. Paula just had a taste but was a bit uncomfortable afterwards, so we skipped the late production show – ‘Blame It On The Boogie’.
A quiet night in but no early start tomorrow for Stockholm. We then have consecutively, Tallinn (Estonia), 2 days in St Petersburg and Helsinki. We have an easy tour booked for Stockholm, as we ae well aware that we don’t cope too well with a run of longer days. We have learned the hard way to pace ourselves. I get far enough behind with writing the blog as it is and I hope to catch up a bit more shortly.
